When to schedule your appointment

Plan ahead! Clinics may have a wait list, so you may have to wait a few months before your appointment.

If possible, schedule your first consultation with your reproductive endocrinologist during the first week of your cycle because certain lab tests will be done during the first few days of your cycle.

Getting ready for your first IVF appointment

Once you've made your appointment, there are a few things you need to do to get ready.

Request and bring the following medical records with you:

• Results of any previous fertility tests
• Results of any previous semen analysis
• Results of any other gynaecological tests
• Records of previous gynaecological surgeries
• All medical records and/or lab reports showing conditions that may affect fertility, such as endometriosis, diabetes, thyroid conditions, premature menopause, autoimmune disorders, etc.
• Charts of basal body temperature (BBTs), if completed
• Results of ovulation predictor tests (OPTs), if completed
• Ask your family members about their history of infertility or recurrent miscarriages and make a note of any difficulties
• Chart of your menstrual cycles for the past several months
• Any other relevant records
