The extent of the first visit with the reproductive endocrinologist depends on which tests and procedures have already been done. Sometimes the first visit is simply a consultation. In that case, the necessary tests may be scheduled for the second visit.

Physical examination – You will very likely undergo a physical examination, which may include a pelvic ultrasound. A pelvic ultrasound is a painless examination that shows any abnormalities of the uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries. It can also show the depth of the uterine lining and whether any ovarian cysts are present.
